For one of the modules in the second year of my degree, I was a part of a group tasked with developing a line following robot from scratch, with a budget of £25. Within the group, I focussed on designing the electronic circuits required to read the position of the line and drive the motors, as well as writing the code to run on the ATMEGA644p microcontroller. This project involed learning how to effectively design protoboard circuits and how best to apply PID control schemes to an autonomous robot. The full report can be read below.
